Is a specific degree required for admission?

No, a specific degree in fashion is not required. We consider each application as a whole, including academic background, work experience, and motivation. Candidates from any field are welcome to apply.

Is there an age limit for applying?

No, there is not an age limit for applying. However, each applicant’s profile will be assessed and evaluated individually.

Does the Institute support non-EU students with their visa applications?

Yes, the Institute will assist students by providing the necessary certificates for their visa applications.

What is the duration of the master’s program?

All the Master programs last 1 year.

Are internships or collaborations with fashion companies included?

Yes, the final internship is a key part of your Master journey. But that’s not all — throughout the program, you’ll engage in exciting projects with leading fashion companies, attend inspiring talks and networking events, and participate in our exclusive Career Week. Our comprehensive career development program is designed to prepare you fully for the dynamic fashion industry, giving you hands-on experience and direct connections with top professionals.

Does IIFM provide career support and placement assistance?

Yes. IIFM offers dedicated career services designed to prepare you for the fashion and luxury job market. Throughout the Master’s program you will engage in career development workshops, employer branding sessions, mentoring, interview preparation, and networking events with leading industry professionals. The goal is to help you build your professional profile and connect with real employment opportunities upon graduation.

Does the program include practical projects or real case studies?

Yes, the program includes practical projects and real case studies that immerse you in the real challenges of the fashion industry. These hands-on experiences are designed to develop your problem-solving skills and prepare you for the dynamic work environment you will encounter after graduation.

In what language are the lessons taught?

The lessons are taught in English.

Is an English proficiency certificate required to apply to the University Masters?

No formal English certificate is required. However, proficiency in English is essential since all courses are taught in English, and the Academic Committee will assess your language ability during the interview. 

Do I need to know Italian to apply or attend the Master?

No, you don’t need to know Italian. All IIFM Masters are taught entirely in English. If you want, you can also take Italian classes during the program.

Is the Italian course included during the Master?

Yes, the Italian course is included during the Master for all international students who are not native Italian speakers. The course is specially designed with a focus on fashion and luxury terminology, enabling you to communicate effectively in the industry. Upon completion, you will be prepared to obtain the official PLIDA A2 or B1 certification, an internationally recognized credential that adds great value to your career in fashion management.

Can I visit IIFM before applying or enrolling?

Where is IIFM located?

IIFM is located at Viale Bianca Maria 33, in the heart of Milan’s historic center, the global capital of fashion, luxury, and design. Our campus is easily accessible by public transport and surrounded by Milan’s key fashion, luxury, and cultural landmarks.

How is the selection process for the University Masters carried out?

The selection process at IIFM is designed to assess each applicant. To apply, candidates must complete the online application form and submit all required documents. Once the application is received, the Academic Committee will schedule an interview to better understand the candidate’s profile, motivations, and potential. Admission decisions are communicated within 5 working days after the interview.

Does IIFM help students find accommodation in Milan?
