Fashion for Change: IIFM Milano Brings Italian Fashion Education to the UN HLPF

On the occasion of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) 2025, held under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), IIFM Milano – Italian Institute of Fashion Management took part in a high-impact side event dedicated to the contribution of sustainable fashion to the 2030 Agenda.

Promoted in collaboration with the NGO Hecho Por Nosotros, which holds consultative status with ECOSOC, the event brought together experts, institutions, and education leaders to explore how the fashion sector can act as a catalyst for social, cultural, and environmental transformation.

Representing IIFM Milano, Director Nicola Guerini emphasized the pivotal role that fashion education plays in building a new generation of professionals and changemakers capable of reimagining the industry. Milan, as one of the global capitals of fashion, becomes a laboratory for innovation, circularity, and responsible creativity.

At IIFM Milano, sustainability is not a trend but a foundational pillar of our educational philosophy. Through research, partnerships, and international dialogue, we are committed to training future leaders who understand fashion as a multifaceted tool for economic progress, social inclusion, and planetary wellbeing.
