New Strategic Partnership IIFM and The Fashion Institute – CUNY Graduate Center

The Italian Institute of Fashion Management is proud to announce a strategic partnership with the Fashion Institute at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY).
This transatlantic collaboration aims to co-develop innovative graduate-level programs between Milan and New York City, offering students immersive experiences across different markets, cultures, and academic disciplines.

Through this partnership, IIFM and CUNY seek to design graduate programs that blend their respective strengths and visions. The goal is to create educational pathways that not only deliver academic knowledge, but also provide practical and immersive experiences, preparing students to become future leaders in the fashion industry with a truly global perspective.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses, workshops, and guided visits with leading industry professionals in both Milan and New York. These experiences will be tailored to offer a deep understanding of the global dynamics of fashion, allowing students to engage directly with current challenges and innovations in the field.

The partnership is built on a shared vision: to educate the next generation of fashion professionals who are not only skilled, but also deeply aware of the cultural, social, and environmental implications of their work. Through an interdisciplinary approach, the joint programs aim to promote the core values of sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation.

This collaboration is led by two outstanding figures in the field of fashion studies:

  • Professor Eugenia Paulicelli, Co-Director of the Fashion Institute and founder of Fashion Studies at the Graduate Center of CUNY, is internationally recognized for her academic contributions to fashion and cultural studies.
  • Professor Denise H. Sutton, PhD, Associate Professor at the New York City College of Technology (CUNY), is an expert in innovation and advertising in the beauty sector, with extensive experience in education and research.

This alliance marks a significant step toward building an intercontinental educational bridge between Milan and New York. As stated by Professor Nicola Guerini, Dean and Director-General of IIFM: “This collaboration marks the beginning of a shared journey between the two sides of the Atlantic, rooted in a common vision: to educate the next generation of global leaders in fashion and beyond.”
