Towards a Shared Vision: IIFM and the Mexican Consulate Collaborate for the Future of Fashion

In line with IIFM’s international vision, Dean and Director-General Nicola Guerini recently met with María de los Ángeles Arriola Aguirre, Consul General of Mexico in Milan, to discuss new forms of cooperation in education, culture, and entrepreneurship. The encounter focused on designing academic pathways for Mexican students, enhancing inter-institutional collaboration, and identifying strategies to support global mobility within the creative economy.

Both parties shared a common goal: to make education a key instrument for mutual understanding and innovation between countries. The partnership envisions a series of joint initiatives, such as co-designed curricula, student and faculty exchanges, cross-cultural events, and industry-linked research projects connecting Milan and Mexico’s fashion ecosystems.

As an institute committed to fostering global talent and sustainability in fashion education, IIFM sees this connection as an important step toward expanding access and inclusion in higher education across continents.
